sign of life

Many times I’ve been wanting to write something, but just couldn’t come up with anything. How things change! I, who used to write every day for quite some time last year. I seem to have lost my knack for writing just about anything. In any event, the blog is alive and will stay that way too. Don’t think I’ll renew the custom domain, though. It’s a waste of money at this point in time.

DSC_1594Not many pictures have been taken either, but we got a visit by the wood duck in the pond so that was a high point in the bleak, early spring. It’s been three years since we had a wood duck there. They’re spectacular.

A friend of mine here … her husband is an avid photographer … had said to her he wanted to go to the park to see whether there were any ‘foreign ducks’ in the pond ๐Ÿ™‚

In the end of this month I’ll be going on a trip to my native Sweden. It’s been three years since last time. Will visit my hometown, and the last couple of days in Stockholm.

I haven’t been here in WordPress for quite some time, and I notice a few, minor new features. It sure took them a long time to release the default theme for 2017! In late April, I think! I’ve applied it here now — I quite like it.

  1. Hi Rebekah, good to see you!! The theme looks nice, and I hope you have a fantastic trip back home too. Photos please!! Hugs!!

    1. Good to see you too ๐Ÿ™‚ I miss the blogosphere at times, but like I said … I just can’t come up with anything. It will be good to travel. There will be pictures, for sure ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Just random photos or thoughts can keep you on WP, and your readers will appreciate the juicy morsels if you take my meaning. โค๏ธ

    1. Hi Anneli! Good to see you ๐Ÿ™‚ Sooner or later I’ll probably be back. I’ve blogged since 2011, with some kind of regularity so I don’t think I’ll give up now.

  2. Oh WOW! Isn’t he just a spectacular fellow, Rebekah? Such incredible shots as always (and just like riding a bicycle, right?
Here’s hoping your trip home is just as spectacular!: )

    1. Hey Deb ๐Ÿ˜Š yes he’s amazing — they all are, in their own way. He stayed around for almost two weeks. I’m looking forward to getting back for a visit, but not so much the long trip itself. No flying via Iceland this time.

      1. Hopefully a good book, long nap (or both; ) will get you there as painlessly as possible. So, how long does it take, anyway? Assuming island hopping via Iceland stretched it out that much farther… ):

        1. The island hopping actually didn’t do that. It depended a little on connecting flights, but usually not. This time, I’ll go to Montreal first, then to Zรผrich and then Stockholm. On my way back it will be Frankfurt. This is all depending on the price, of course. Zรผrich will be a first for me.

  3. Hello there! Happy to see your post ๐Ÿ˜€ The duck in the featured image looks so funny, a bit puffed up in the chest. Have a safe trip to Sweden, it looks like it’s quite complicated to get there. Hopefully your trip will fuel you with new ideas to blog about.

    1. Hi there ๐Ÿ™‚ Yeah, he looks a little puffed up and almost agitated ~ as if he didn’t like to have his photo taken.
It’s not all that complicated to get there — there are direct flights from Montreal to Stockholm … it’s all a matter of price and time.

  4. Hey there Rebekah, I always enjoy your bird photos and seeing what you are up to, and would miss you if you weren’t here. I understand how you feel about your writing, am going through the same thing. I’m giving up my custom domain too, I have had so many problems with it (today is it’s last day); I wish I’d stayed with the free WP.

    1. The pictures are wonderful as usual. I am happy for you that you take a trip to Sweden. I am still in NY, on the flight over here were almost passed St. John, with quite a lot of turbulence. I am sure you not were responsible for that lol.
I havent been a blogger, I dont have the fantasy or interest, but like to read others blogs, maybe a little passive?

      1. Hej! I saw the lovely photos from Central Park! Must have been a wonderful experience. I’ll never get there.

What you saw was probably St. John’s, Newfoundland ๐Ÿ™‚ there’s a lot of confusion about that — Saint John and St. John’s.

Nowadays I have a really hard time coming up with something to write about. It comes and goes … like April snow ๐Ÿ˜€

    2. Hi Barb ๐Ÿ™‚
I’m happy that this blog is located within the dot com WordPress, so when the day comes, I’ll just switch to tassitus.wordpress.com — easy peasy. Maybe one day in the future, I’ll get back into all that but that feels very far away.

  5. Such a pretty duck photo!!! I miss going to Harrison Park to feed & visit with the ducks, swans & other assorted birds…..
I have lived vicariously thru your photos for a long time Rebby!
    {{{hugs}}} Sherri-Ellen
