WP Weekly ~ Look up [191/365]

Back in 2009 (I see now that is was, thought it was 2010), an acquaintance and I, visited the Legislative building in Fredericton. Fredericton is the capital of New Brunswick … the province in which we live. We walked around in there, not really knowing what to do. We were both new to DSLR cameras, so we were at the same level there. It was hot. It was one of those days I’ll never forget because I thought I was going to die. She thought so too, she told me afterwards.

In any event, we were standing in this old building, when I just happened to look up. That really paid off, as what I saw was the above, lovely, spiral staircase. This is the one and only shot I took. As I said, I was new to all this and knew nothing about .RAW format, or anything else, so I was just lucky. I had one lens and that was the kit-lens 18-55mm.

  1. Wow, this looks so great! It sounds cheesy but I actually mean it… Good that you didn’t die that day. If only so you could share this picture ๐Ÿ˜ฎ It does pay to look up. And down, occasionally, too.

    1. Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚ I would like to go back there some time, and shoot it with a different lens. It gets extremely hot in Fredericton, because it’s way inland. Think it was 34ยบC that day, and humid.

      1. The photo doesn’t really need improvement, but it could be nice to shoot different versions with a different lens, sure! 34ยฐC is uncomfortably hot even for me. Though I’m now sitting in a 29ยฐC room and I’m good.

        1. The extreme humidity makes it feel hotter even. It was a terrible day.

This summer has been kind to me so far. It’s rather cool, I bet all the people are complaining ๐Ÿ˜‰

          1. I’m among all the people complaining ๐Ÿ˜ฎ We’re having a very weird summer with huge temperature swings from one day to another. It’s confusing, and both I and the cat caught a cold from that. (Or one of us got it from the other?)

              1. I have no idea if the cold is transferable from cat to human and vice versa, but I suspect it might be happening. I’ve noticed before that when I start sneezing, the cat starts too. Maybe it’s sympathetic sneezing!
