mixed bag [159/365]

This morning, I may have had an idea or a thought to write about. That flew out the window, and I have all the good reasons to revert to the lyrics I wrote about the other day: Can’t remember what I came here to forget. I don’t even like that song in particular, and in my books Blake Shelton is overrated.

To start reading followed blogs, instead of writing in my own first … that’s not the way to go for me. Ended up in YouTube, because another song title kept popping up in my mind. When I go in there, I’m lost — in the right column I keep getting reminded of songs I haven’t heard for years.

This wasn’t the song title that originally kept popping up — that was too sad, and the exact opposite title. I’ll save that for another day.

Oh, Thank You! for that one! So beautiful. Here’s really one I hadn’t thought about for years: Donovan!!! Memories from my youth.

I go to YouTube with a song in mind & then listen to 20 other ones, lol..so many many memories….
And I think Blake is an OK singer but there are better singers than him! But then music IS subjective right??

That’s what happens to me too.

I think he’s alright. Nothing more, but he always keeps winning all the prizes at those CM Awards. While he was married to Miranda Lambert, they both won everything.

I remember when Alan Jackson was the country singer ‘flavor of the year’. head far too much of him & now I do not like his singing at all now……
Blake is good but he is NO Johnny Cash or Conway Twitty (now am showing my age, hehehe….)

I do have a few I like with Alan Jackson. That doesn’t mean I think he’s G-d’s gift to C&M LOL
Well … we’re the same age so 😉 Willie Nelson go to be added to my list.

Yes he is Canadian & I believe from somewhere on East Coast where you are… The song was about him leaving for good…I might have posted it back in January on FB when Jon & I had that misunderstanding but I think I then deleted that post….
The video shows the singer walking along a break wall…

Yes, I think I know the song. He wrote it, and it’s really about his mother leaving. Right now I can’t think of his name … There are several, new-ish Canadians now, and I can’t keep them apart.

Yes. He was adopted, and wrote this song to his mum. So that was Dean Brody, and then we have Gord Bamford and Paul Brandt … amongst many others.

I tried to Google East Coast Cdn music artists….sighs
I KNOW it is not the 2 you mentioned. They have been around for quite a while. I heard this fellow on Stingray TV music channel>>>then I bookmarked the song & then I lost it…darn!

Oh dear! Poor you. I have the opposite problem — never managed to clean up my Bookmarks folder. It’s so outdated, and goes back I don’t know how many years. Each new computer, I’ve imported them, which has resulted in four, five of the same. Now it’s beginning to feel unsurmountable. I might just delete ALL.

I’m quite surprised that I like that Donovan song 😉 It’s nice. I’ve also found that I need to write my posts first and then look around others’ blogs, or I get distracted and end up not writing anything. YouTube is the worst in terms of getting sucked in…

I hadn’t thought about Donovan for so many years … I’d totally forgotten about him, until I saw this. He was born in Scotland, but lives in Ireland now.
