just a little bout with ocd

Last night, I posted a photo to the WordPress Weekly photo. I numbered the post 120/365, as I’m doing this post-a-day thing. I thought that way, I wouldn’t have to do any post today, the 30th of April — I’d be โ€œfreeโ€ ๐Ÿ™‚ today.

Then my eyes were drawn to the little calendar widget in the rightย column. All the days of April were neatly lined up in red, except number 30, because I’d posted two yesterday. I had to go in and change the date of that post. That was easy. ย Just couldn’t have the calendar look like that! The only reason I’ve put it there is this post-a-day challenge.

Still holding myself back from going in and change all the posts from ***/365 to 366 — it’s leap year this year.

  1. Haha, that would be a job changing it all to 366. I sympathise. I had to change the catalogue numbers on 400 items. I had to go into each one and take off a dash and a letter ‘A’. I resented the time it took but not the effort or the boredom. There was a kind of pride in how long I could keep going without giving up ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. I can relate, and I’m not over the 365 yet. Used to crochet for a very short time of my life. Had to go back, rip up hours of work, because I’d missed one stitch. I knew I couldn’t live with looking at the finished product, knowing there was a mistake in there.

  2. Hahaha, I know what you mean and I do this all the time. I spend much more time arranging things than doing things. I used to do weirdest little things with my blog – such as scheduling all my posts to appear at a particular time (midnight for my 365 posts, 2 pm for all other posts), never posting outside of a given schedule and when I didn’t have the time to schedule my posts, I changed their dates (and times) to the time when they should have been properly published, even if it was a week earlier. I’m moderately proud of myself because I managed to stop doing this – it helped that I cancelled a regular posting schedule and now post when I choose (when I can). But if I were in your place, of course, I would also change the post date so that it would appear in its rightful place in the calendar widget!

    1. Right! I’ve managed to get over quite a few things like that, but in this case — with the calendar, I knew I just couldn’t ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Yes, and we haven’t seen the end of this — I still might go in and change them. What the heck if it takes an hour or so — I’m just sitting here anyway ๐Ÿ˜€

      1. HAHAHAHA…you remind me of the Oil of Olay commercial jingle: “Keep them guessing with Oil of Olay…” ๐Ÿ˜‰
I love when you make changes. You do it so effortlessly. As you know, trying to change my blog was monumental & I needed your help. I am still not ‘wild’ on the dusty pink but I have to accept what I can not change, right???? What I really like is that the new theme loaded all my Widgets! Now that was great.
I might change the background at some point. It did not actually turn out the way I wanted. I am such a fusspot! ;0

        1. Yeah well, I spend so much time here, so I know this site almost inside out.

So you did choose a new theme?! I thought you stuck with the one you had! Must look now.

  3. So Rebby I decided to redo the background image & it is a good thing as I forgot to do the tiling pattern & centering. How I forgot this is beyond me, lol. I then decided to change the Fonts also. The ‘Cherry Swash’ as too OTT (over the top) & the blog looked OCD, heeheehee…
I went with something more masculine & refined. When you have a moment can you go & check the blog out>>>I welcome your input (as usual; my bloggie guru friend!!)
