First of Spring [80/365]

It’s officially Spring now, as of today, but this Winter … tame as it was … hasn’t said its last words yet. There’s a, possibly powerful, nor’easter approaching, so tomorrow we could see at least 20 centimetres of snow. High winds too.

When we listen to, or read, weather forecasts here, we’re  easily led to believe that all bad weather is “made up” in Cape Hatteras. It sounds almost as if everything begins there … the storms are always brewing in Cape Hatteras 🙂

noaa-_outer_banksI’d like to go there … not just Cape Hatteras but the Outer Banks, NC. Guess it started when I read the novel «Nights in Rodanthe» by Nicholas Sparks [it’s a film too, but I haven’t seen it]. Before that, I don’t think I was even aware of the Outer Banks existed, but now I know, and there’s even a place namned Duck! On the other hand … there are so many places I’d like to go, and how much happier would it make me afterwards?

Yeah, this time of year, I’m not any great snow lover! There’s a time for everything, and this is not for snow. We only have some dirty, little piles here and there, as it is now.

Today is lovely, though … right now I’m on a ferry, over to the peninsula — hoping to see some birds or wildlife 😊

I have friends who rhapsodize about the Outer Banks & from photos I have seen they are lovely!
A place named DUCK? Totally your kind of town, hehehe…
An I think you would feel ‘good’ after travelling. I miss my travelling days so much.
I loved ‘hitting’ the road & finding new places.
I never regretted going to Kentucky or Indiana…..both beautiful amazing places & such wonderful people……I have treasured memories. My ‘besties’ live on ‘the Rock’ now & if I could travel I’d be in Newfoundland for sure. A girl can still dream right? 😉

Yeah, you’re right … one makes memories while travelling. Newfoundland is a place I’ve often thought about … all those little, colourful, villages with cute names 🙂 We’ll see what the future holds …

Well, as I’ve so often said, this was the winter that wasn’t; but (now that it’s “Spring”; ) this coming week looks more like winter, than Winter did; )
    Hang onto your hat, Bekah!
And I LOVED “Nights in Rodanthe” with two of my favourite actors: Diane Lane & Richard Gere: )

It’s looking pretty wild out there, this morning!

I MUST see that movie … I loved the book. In fact, I’ve loved all of his books!
