Maine State of Mind ~ WP Weekly [57/365]

This week, let your inner world and the outside one converge in a photo. So this week, share an image where you see a particularly strong connection between what we see and what you felt as you pressed that shutter button on your camera or phone.

That’s what WordPress suggests that we do for this week’s photo challenge. I’ve chosen this picture, because I remember just how I felt when I shot it … even though it’s been a few years now, I felt a bit eerie … it was surreal.

It’s in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. We were there in October that year, it was unseasonably warm, and my husband even swam in the ocean.

This is a tourist town, but in October it was totally devoid of people. Adjacent to the beach, there’s an amusement park, which contributed even more to the eerie feeling of being in a ghost town.

Yeah … the fog, and the drizzle! The amusement park, with it’s big wheels ‘n stuff really added to it.

It sure is … it’s also the only state I’ve visited 🙂It’s so varied … sandy beaches in the south, and a more rugged coastline the farther north you go …

      Thank you for stopping by!

Must have been amazing to be there on the off-season with just the roar of the ocean. Love the ATM sign with all those structures!

It was, and also because of the warm weather! I hadn’t even noticed that sign myself LOL
