eagle painting

Long time ago — probably close to two years — I had a conversation with a lady, while waiting in the check-out line in Walmart. I have no idea how it started in general, or how we came to talk about eagles in particular. It’s easy to strike up a conversation with strangers here — this would never have happened in my native country. Perhaps it began because I was wearing my puffin T-shirt. Anyway, turned out the lady was an artist, a painter. I showed her a selection of my eagle photos on the iPhone, and she said she’d love to paint one. We exchanged email addresses, I sent her a few eagles and then pretty much forgot all about it.

About a week ago, there was an email in my inbox … a name I didn’t immediately recognize. Surprise! It was from the lady, she’d painted my eagle and it was now in a local exhibition here in the city.

I went out there to have a look, and was baffled how it looked identical to the photo … had to get up really close to it, to see it was actually painted!

In any event, it was great fun to see my own photo as a painting! Amazing things happen in Walmart at times 🙂

    Looks great Bekah!
Judging by the tags in this photo, I’m guessing it’s on display at a Fair or Exhibition of some kind?
