I think I was born with a guilty conscience 🙂 … I try to work on it, but when I go back to my native country, it comes back again, to hit me like a rock!

There, I think they tend to go overboard with the gender equality. That’s one part of the whole issue. When I go back, people ask me what it’s like, living abroad, and inevitably the question arises: «What do you do there?» [meaning work]. When I explain that I don’t work, most of them [women] will ask «…but what do you DO all day???!!!», in a certain tone of voice.  That’s when the guilt kicks in again.

I could tell them the truth. I get up in the morning, turn on the computer and stay online most of the day LOL … then they’d faint. I have NO problem whatsoever passing the time. There, however, that’s not okay … women have to work, have to have a career, even if they have a bunch of kids! They have to be equal: «I took out the trash yesterday, so today it’s your turn!» Even in the government it’s 50/50 men and women.

I could tell them I maintain three blogs, but that would only result in them saying: «blogs?!?!!!» in a tone as if it was a dirty word … «…what would YOU have to to write about??», so I keep that to myself.

What I really wanted to say in this post was: I have thought about this blogging thing. I have these two, Tassitus here and my ordinary  I’m not going to give up any of them.

  • Tassitus will be kept for a little more personal stuff … you know, whatever comes to mind. Could be about life, TV-series … whatever fluffy stuff that’s in my head.
  • Everything else, like the weekly photo challenge, and all that, will go into colderweather as usual.

That’s it!  Now I won’t have to feel guilty for having two blogs, do I?! 😀

For gods sake, dont feel guilty. After my opininon – this equality thing are gone too far, its ended up like a jail to all of us. If a woman decides being a “hausfrau” and keep house and family, quite a job, she is a parasite. If you chose not to have children, then you are weird, not a real woman ( I dont have any, because I didnt want them) . Today most people are running in a threadmill, earn mony so they can spend, the children are looked after by foreigners, what a world we have made ( the Western part of it ). I will call it inhuman. Enjoy your freedom , I do- I am a pensioneer, and feel very comfortable about it. Am I bored?- not at all, there are so many things that interests me, and I love to walk with my dog. Have you heard that its now official in Sweden: not hon or han, its hen. I cant imagine that we go that far here. BTW: keep on blogging, thank you.

Tack!!! 😀 Heartwarming! I didn’t want any either … and then you’d have to work to be able to afford the daycare, which gets more expensive the more you earn LOL. Nobody seems to think about the stupidity of it all: You have to work so that a stranger can look after your kid?!

I have never been bored one day since I quit working.

One of the Swedish women I met in QC, she worked full time, had a husband and a bunch of kids. She told me, in a whispering kind of voice, because she was so ashamed/guilty, that she was going to get a cleaning lady coming in every week. She didn’t dare to tell the other Swedes. This country is going downhill fast, and HEN is one of my biggest pet peeves right now. It’s one thing if the language is sort of ‘missing’ a word … a word that there’s a need for …. but THIS! There, they have invented a need, and it makes me furious.

I don’t feel guilty for sitting at my laptop all day!! I worked a lot of years at a high stress and physically wearing down job. From that job I have more back pain than I should. And it probably contributed to my needing 2 knee replacements. I deserve to be lazy!!! And so do you!

Ohhh I sure know about that guilty stuff, big time!

But since I have gotten older I really just do not give a hoot what other people think of me! It’s none of their business how I live my own life!

As you know I have been off work a long time and I sure find things to do all the time. Sure I do have my son that I need to care for, but as he has gotten older and he likes to have his own time, I have more time for myself to do things.

My friend, have as many blogs you want! It’s YOUR life and do what you love to do! 🙂 And I love reading your blogs!!

Thank you! Yes, I know you’ve had a lot on your plate.

I read a really good quote, a while back, that comes to mind now:

“What other people think of me is none of my business!” 😀

Hi Rebby I have no idea how I missed this post!!! Good grief!!!
I still carry some of “THAT” guilt! People have bugged me for years about why I don’t work. It is so obvious it makes me fairly angry when people start giving ‘thei’ opinions which mean nothing to me.
I learned early on to say “I took early retirement” 😉
That usually shuts people up, lol….
You owe no one an explanation. I am glad you do not have to run about working hours a day & come home exhausted & fed up!
I hope you are feeling NO gulit for having & maintaining 3 blogs! You go girlfriend!
Blogging is wonderful even on bad days for me 😉

He he … NO, I don’t! 🙂 It’s just so silly, the levels of gender equality have reached there … I mean, honestly; everything in moderation, huh?!

I once said to a bunch of women at work … they were talking about their children [of course]; «IF I, against all odds, had had children, I would have loved to be able to stay at home with them, at least until they started school!» This was not a good thing to say … «Do you REALLY believe that YOU will be able to give your child the pedagogic stimulation it NEEDS?!» That was one of the stupidest things I’d ever heard, so I just shook my head in disbelief instead of going into any argumentation with them …

Society can be the worst ‘jail’ of all….
There is NOTHING worng with being a full-time Mother!!! Period.
Iwanted to have children & lost 3 (as you know) & I have always been judged & it continues to hurt to this day. people have even had the nerve to ask ‘how’ I lost them & suggested it was ‘my fault’….
Terrific! I need to be made to feel even worse than I do….sighs
As for where I am in Life Julianna I worked all my Life & my body has worn out….bothe knees; hips; spine…
I refuse to feel guilty for being a wreck. I refuse to feel guilty that I lost my 2 sons & 1 daughter. I refuse to feel guilty for being in recovery! I have come thru HELL ON EARTH & I am proud of the woman I am now!! So take that world, lol 😉

We just finished watching the third episode … it’s really good, on many levels. That whole era …

I think we’ll probably check out White Chapel when we’re finished with this one 🙂

    1. Nylabluesmum

LOL so I found out after getting back online 😉
I miss so much when my PC crashes, lol….
Did you see all “Foyle’s War”? It is a good solid ‘period’ piece!
Last Thursday PBS showed the 3 part “White Chapel” Ripper series back to back. It was just as chilling the 2nd time around I can tell you Rebby!!!!!
British TV I so superior to American isn’t it?
