Sunday Morning in Stockholm, Sweden ~ 5 Day Challenge: Day 1

It was an early morning in September, but it felt as if summer had made a come-back. An online buddy and myself were meeting up for the first time in real life, and had decided beforehand, to make it a photo-walk. She got to my hotel in the downtown area, and we took off around 9 o’clock. This was one of the first photos I took and then we took some silly selfies with our phones.

Meeting with this fellow-country-woman in real life wasn’t such a big deal — we’d been in contact on various blogging sites and other forums since 2006. No big surprises there, it was as if I’d known her forever. She was the third person from the web I met in real life.

This fountain is located in the King’s Garden [Kungsträdgården]. Normally, especially with this weather, this would be a very crowded place, but at 9 o’clock on a Sunday morning, not many people are out and about so it was vacant. It was a pleasant feeling.

I was nominated by Amy to participate in the Five Days Challenge and asked to post five photos—one per day for five days—and to write a story to accompany each photo. For each day that we post we are supposed to nominate one person. Now, I think a five day challenge is something I’d like to take part in, but I’ll abstain from the nominating part … it’s a personal choice 🙂

  1. Thanks for playing along. No need to nominate anyone if you don’t want to. This is meant to be fun!

It’s pretty neat how we can get to know someone so well online that they don’t feel like strangers at all when we meet them in for the first time in real life, isn’t it?

    1. Yes, it is! The two I’ve met [apart from my husband who would be the first one I ever met], I’d communicated so much with over a long period of time so … it was just like I’d expected. There another woman too, that I’ve known just as long as this Swedish one, but I’ve never met her … it would be fun, but I don’t know if it will happen. She’s far out west in the US…

  2. I think it was great you got to meet the lady from online!! You both had such a great time.
I would love to have a huge gathering & invite my 360/Multiply & WP friends….it would be amazing! 😉
