Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Bridges

Every now and then I take part in Cee’s photo challenge. Noticed it was «Bridges» this time and I have a few of those! 🙂

Still, when I look at this bridge from my hometown in Sweden, it’s hard to fathom that I’ve been on top of one of the pylons! The bridge wasn’t finished then, so it was sticking out over open water. Must have been 1996.

Here’s our own Harbour Bridge! Normally you’d see the city skyline in this shot, but it’s embedded in fog. A very common occurrence here — it rolls in nicely from the Bay of Fundy.

A few pictures from my trip up to the top of the pylon:

Thanks John! It really is … but I still remember the shaky elevator ride up there. And the pylon was swaying a little in the wind … quite the experience 🙂

The bridge in the first photo is both beautiful and graceful, it’s a great shot. Not many people can say they have been on top of one of those pylons – you are part of it’s history!

“You’ve been on top of…”?!? Oh my god that makes me want to puke, just thinking about it!!
and, LOL, don’t know how many times I’ve seen your Harbour Bridge every time my son watched Theodore Tugboat with Denny Doherty as The Harbour Master when he was little…

In fact, I didn’t have a problem … Before, I was curious about how I would feel.

I’m not familiar with that Theodore stuff, will ask G 🙂

Thanks! It is a beautiful bridge. Before the built the bridge to Denmark, I think those pylons were the tallest in the country.

It was early evening … You weren’t allowed to go there at all, since it was a construction site, but I knew someone working there. It was cool to see the ferry down below, as a little, yellow dot!
