photo101 #2 street

This is one of the two, main streets in my Swedish hometown Härnösand. «Nybrogatan» is its name, which would translate to New Bridge Street. I was standing with my back towards the railway station when I shot it, back in 2011. From there, up to the white building you see in the background, it’s said to be exactly 1 kilometre.

    1. Thank you so much! It was the first one that came to mind. I just wish I’d taken the same shot when I was there in the summer … when all the flowers are up. This was late September…

  1. Its a very nice picture, and a wonderful place. I have to change my inner picture of Härnösand from now on, its very different from what I imagined ( I dont really know what I imagined, but nothing like this).

    1. It was shot from the mainland … a great chunk of Härnösand is on an island. The bridge [in the center of the picture] isn’t visible … Nybron 🙂

      1. I read a book recently ( en krimi ) where the bridge in Härnösand was mentioned

  2. It looks pleasant and civilised, with lots of space.

I just looked up Härnösand on Google maps – it’s quite far north – maybe 62˙ – gives me a better understanding of your background. St John’s must feel quite different?
