With the life we normally lead, Gerry and I, it feels almost hectic during these trips. So many people to see, so much chatting, so much information … My best friend, with whom I’m staying now, has an endless source of energy! Not that nervous type of energy, but things just happen all the time, without me even noticing … from the moment she gets up. She’s been taking care of all the apples from the trees in the garden, cooking apple sauce, making pies — all this just somehow happening swiftly while talking about something else, and all of a sudden the counters are clear and shiny again!
However, the other day we decided to go to some waterfalls, 30 kilometres inland from here. I was there last year too, but Lena hadn’t been there for quite some time, and especially not since she bought the DSLR camera. We didn’t bring any tripod. Here used to be an old mill or some such, a few old buildings are still there. It’s like a park, where they have ponies for kids to ride.
These falls are really impressive in the early Spring, but after this dry summer, there was little water. Still — a waterfall is never wrong 🙂
Later that day, after supper, we felt a little stuffed and decided to take a walk. We moseyed around all kinds of little streets and just reminisced old times, eventually we ended up outside the library and the adjacent city park. By then it was dark — pitch black, and we still didn’t have tripods. That was a bit unfortunate … we could have gotten some awesome shots of the Cathedral, all lit up, but there’s still time.
