Leaving on a jet plane…

Not until tomorrow, though. I’ll be away, in Sweden for about three weeks, but I will post a blog whenever I feel like it and have the time. Will bring the iPad of course, but not the heavier computer. It’s enough, carrying the heavy Nikon around.

It will be the usual route; Halifax – Reykjavik – Stockholm, and then a train up north to my hometown. Will arrive there on Wednesday night at 9 o’clock.

I’ve been following news about the volcano Bárðarbunga, closely! In Twitter, most of all, but also the web pages they’ve set up in English from the Icelandic Meteorological office.

I remember well enough the chaos the other volcano caused to airline traffic, back in 2010, when it erupted. The Twitter hashtag [#] «ashtag» was invented and that is still very much alive.

Should Bárðarbunga erupt, I doubt it would cause the same kind of air traffic disruption as 2010. There’s a large, no-fly-zone all around it so I won’t be able to take any picture of it 🙂

I read that they do not expect ash if there is an eruption, but they expect flooding. Maybe that implies steam as well.

Have a good trip and I look forward to your blogging.

    The ashtag hashtag is clever.

Thank you! I’m looking forward to the trip. Hoping Bárðarbunga will put the lid on for a while.
Some clever guy in Ireland ‘claims responsibility’ for the #ashtag 🙂

Have a nice trip back to the old country. You never know what they find out to do in Iceland lol, – I think it will wait until you are safe in Sweden.
    Wonderful pictures

      Hej Annette! 🙂
I’ll only get 2,5 hrs this time in Iceland. By now, I know that airport pretty well! At least there will be time for smoke and coffee…

Oh that should be interesting – hopefully any eruptions won’t interfere too much with routes! Hope you have an easy trip over and many fun times in the next few weeks 🙂

May it NOT erupt! But if it does I am sure it won’t be the same damage this time as in 2010!

Have a safe and fun trip!! And it is great that you’ll have a car so you can drive around as you please!! KRAM!! 😀
