WP weekly photo challenge – Summer Lovin’

After our first Summer here, five years ago, I’ve had to steel myself each Spring. That first Summer was a shocker! I wasn’t used to that type of humid heat, and had no idea it was like that here. It was brutal. This Summer, though, has been so kind to me, so I’m slowly getting my love for this season back.

Luckily we’re surrounded by water! The Atlantic ocean, two rivers, lakes … We’re only a few minutes away from the beach in the photo entitled Sea Street. The little flower will have to represent all the lovely colours of Summer.

    1. Thank you, Mona! I love it! Haven’t felt the urge to ‘scream into the pillow’ once LOL. Think we were saved by the fog during the period that normally, would have been the worst!

    1. Yes! Loch Lomond, Aberdeen …all kinds of place names!

I can only imagine what it must be like farther down south. It gets very oppressive at times here, and the nights are terrible.

  1. Thanks for another beautiful montage Rebby! I went looking for your “li’l flower” as soon as I saw it because it’s one I remember since picking childhood bouquets for my mother: ) We always called her Creeping Pea Vine (’cause that’s what it does, LOL!; ) and when I looked it up, a lot of REALLY old references popped up… This one is a fantastic list of wild plants from “Chapter V.
The Wild Trees and Plants of Becker County.” Circa??? AND a mini course in botanical classification from an unnamed surveyor (M.N. Becker?)
And my perennial favourite; ) http://www.pfaf.org/user/Plant.aspx?LatinName=Lathyrus+palustris
Oh, I saw my first Monarch of the year on Thursday!
Btw, after the seemingly endless Winter we had here last year, there’ll be no complaint about Summer from me. (I’ll just melt quietly away in a corner somewhere; )

    1. Hi Deb, and thanks! 🙂 I knew it was something with ‘pea’! 🙂 I just love the colour of them!

I, too, saw a Monarch last week! Couldn’t get a decent picture of it, even though I had the camera hanging around my neck. They are truly awesome!

Yes, this last Winter was really something else, and then we got Arthur here. He was terrible!

  2. Such lovely photos! I love the last one; such serenity….I could use some of that right about now 😉
Summer has been gentle with us here also 🙂
    Love Sherri-Ellen & Nylablue x0x0
