Today, my sweetie and I got married! After ten years of living together, we thought it was about time to crown off our engagement and legalize our relationship. It was a very nice and quiet ceremony at the lawyers office. We couldn’t be happier!

I’m typing up this post with a certain feeling of suspense … to see if all has worked?! Obviously I’ve moved colderweather to a new domain with my own [new] name, rebekahmcnulty.com. About the same time as we decided to get married, it struck me that I’ve never written anything, anywhere online, under my own, real name — not even in Facebook. There, I used some kind of abbreviated version. That has changed now, as of today. Honestly, I don’t know what I’ve been so afraid of. When Google+ tried to ‘force’ people to use their own names, it irked me to no end. Now, when I’ve decided to finally use mine, they removed that rule and even apologized LOL.

More to come — as I said; I really want to see if this move has worked … with the followers, and all that!

  1. As you can see, it worked, although there is no Like button on the page. Congrats on the new domain name, very classy!
And my sincerest congratulations on getting married! You sound so happy, and rightly so……you have surprised us all and I’m so happy for you both.

  2. Congratulations to you & Gerry for finally getting married!! I am overjoyed for both of you…I knew he was the man for you & you the woman for him…
Wishing both of you many years of happiness, companionship & love together!!!
You are right; this IS the first time you have ever used your actual name….you know you will always be “Rebby” to me tho’… ❀
    Much love Sherri-Ellen & Nylablue

    1. Thank you, hon! Strangely enough, even though nothing has really changed, it does feel a little different … can’t really explain πŸ™‚

      Yes, now I’ll Β«be meΒ» … one email, one blog πŸ˜‰

  3. Is it really you???????
    And you just got married??????????????
THRILLING! Congratulations, Best Wishes, new marriage, new (sort of) blog, new name —-
    W O W.
    Go Rebekah!!!!!

  4. I wondered who this blogger was when it came up in my reader, although the name should have been a clue! So no hitches with the following. And speaking of hitches, or rather, getting hitched, very many congratulations. I don’t know to this day why we got married, but we did, and if nothing else it really eases the paperwork and legalities of life πŸ™‚

    1. Hey … good to see you! πŸ™‚ The blog move could have been even smoother, had I not messed it up in the end. Got help, right away and now it’s all good.

Yes, the legalities of it all… πŸ™‚

        1. When you go self-hosted, there’s a thing called Β«JetpackΒ», it’s like a plug-in, and that’s what makes it so much easier. You take your ‘followers’ with you…

    1. Thank you! It feels a little like a new beginning, even though nothing has changed. I just thought it was a good occasion starting writing as ‘myself’ πŸ™‚

  5. Hi Rebekah! I went to subscribe and it says I am already subscribed to this blog, SO that means it worked! I LOVE the new name of the blog. You are the only person I know who changes her blog name as much as I do my Berlin blog :). It looks great on my iPhone too. And a BiG congratulations on your wedding day today. My aunt did the same thing, they were “engaged” for over 20 years before they made it official with paperwork.

    1. I really wanted a new beginning and it happened to coincide with the new name. What could be better. Feels good also, to be able to say ‘my husband’ and it’s true. I’ve referred to him as my hubby before, and that never felt really right

  6. Congratulations Rebekah and Gerry!! πŸ˜€ I’m still so excited for you two!! And you know I wish nothing but the best for you and your hubby!!

Nice move with the blog and I like the new name and the look!! Kramis!!

  7. Congratulations to you both! Funny how it does make a difference – that act of marriage, that promise. Love the title of the blog and it so suits you in so many ways. It is just perfect. Here’s to beginnings and goings on!

    1. Oh Joss, it really does! …and yes, it IS funny, after all these years. Since this summer is being to good to me, I thought I’d change the title and stop complaining about the heat LOL

  8. Too funny! Was at a BIG Town Hall meeting last night and completely missed your intro coming in; so, when your second post hit my inbox thIs morning, I was very confused about who this “Time & Tide/Rebekah McNulty” person was and how her blog posting came to me?!?
Congratulations to you and Gerry! This is such WONDERFUL news Bekah!! Wishing you many years of wedded bliss together: )
And yes, now that I’ve written a comment, it totally worked; )

    1. Hi and THANKS! πŸ™‚ Yes, I figured there would be a certain amount of confusion, but then again I thought, most people would recognize the Rebekah-part.

Hope it was a good meeting?! πŸ™‚

      1. Council turned down a zoning application for a massive incinerator project; so yes, if all is as it appears, it was a VERY good meeting… And thanks for asking: )

  9. Congratulations to you and Gerry, I wish the best for both of you , nice surname!

    1. Thank you, Linda!
Please, don’t feel stupid. This moving around, was probably confusing for most people.

He already is … I wanted McDuff to be the ring bearer LOL but he didn’t want to get out in the pouring rain!

  10. Looks like it is going well here. I was so happy to hear you were getting married and I don’t know why. I guess because you seemed so happy.
