Weekly Photo Challenge: Unexpected

Found this downtown, yesterday. For the first time in my life I got the chance to ‘listen to the sound of the ocean’, by putting it to my ear.

cannon ballAnother, older photo, that could very well be labelled «unexpected», I shot while walking along St. Louis Street in Quebec City. The wings of history…

  1. There is soemthing magical about the sound of the ocean in a seashell isn’t there??
I love the photo of the tree…those roots so strong looking….you always take such wonderful photos; capturing the essence of the subject!
    Love Sherri-Ellen & Nylablue too.

    1. Thank you, Sherri-Ellen! 🙂 I’d read about that sound but never got the chance to try it out before.

Look at the roots of that tree … there’s a cannon ball embedded there…

  2. I like your “unexpected” photos.
You found a nice shaped shell to listen to the sound of the ocean!
I remember when you wrote about this tree before, pointing out the cannon ball embedded in those strong roots.

    1. Thanks Barb! The cannon ball was really unexpected! Had I not happened to look down, I’d never have known.
How many times haven’t I heard about that sound they hear when they put a sea shell to the ear, and never before had the chance to try it 😀

    1. Thank you, Linda! I took that picture of the sea shell … a real close-up, and the lines reminded me of Fibonacci 🙂

  3. Now how cool is that, eh Rebby??
Looks like there may have been at least two more of them at some point…
Wow! Talk about living history: )
STILL getting duplicates of your posts (ever since WordPress “helped”):

    1. It was at Long Wharf, guess it fell out of a lobster cage.
Seeing that cannon ball was cool. It wasn’t pointed out in anyway … no sign or plaque.
I didn’t know you were getting duplicates. I’m getting updates from my own blog too, and I don’t know why. I’m not subscribed to myself LOL

      1. Hm, we’re both getting duplicates and not getting the mail we need… Go figure!; )

    1. Thank you, Dauw! I was most surprised to see that cannon ball — that’s why I remember it still..
