all sorted out [almost]

It’s already been three weeks since that previous post about waiting for Bell, and our connectivity problems here.

Well, poor Bell spent close to three hours here. At one point, he was finished and went out the door … then the TV went down, which meant another hour and a half.

The following morning, the Internet went down as usual anyway! I started to think a little deeper about the problem and realized we didn’t really lose the wifi — the devices lost their connection to it.

Turned out it was the printer! We have this wireless web printer, that has caused some grief with regards to the connection. I disconnected it totally and all our problems were resolved.

However, when I tried to install it again, it kept telling me there was a paper jam! I couldn’t get anywhere with it … only had that flashing message on the display. Took it apart so many times I lost count of it … looked inside with a flashlight — not the slightest, little piece of paper anywhere. Now I’ve turned it over to a friend, who is less technically challenge than I.

Strangely enough, there’s a widget in wordpress.COM that I miss here in the self-hosted! It’s called «Display WordPress Posts Widget», and with that you can display excerpts of posts from another blog, even a self-hosted one!

He’s going to fix it for me … it’s just a little over a years old! Just out of warranty..

Only one years of warranty? its not much. What a relief that its over with the troubles-but why at that time in the morning? – strange.

The last few days, I’ve begun to think our troubles aren’t over. Just the time has changed. 5:30 in the evening, we lose the signal … the TV goes down for half a minute, then comes back by itself …but I have to restart the other devices. This is a mystery!
