Daily Prompt: The Excitement Never Ends

It’s rare that I do the ‘WP Daily Prompt‘, even though I get them in my email. Today’s prompt spoke to me … all because of my latest purchase; the MacBook. In the WP post they asked «Tell us about the last thing you got excited about — butterflies-in-the-stomach, giggling, can’t-wait excited. » Well, in my case that was just a few days ago … when I’d made the decision to buy it. At my ripe age, I still get excited about things, and usually about the small things in life — I’m such a child at heart. A new computer is no little thing, however, so I had all the good reasons to be excited and happy.

IMG_1696It’s a bit like moving house … moving in to a new home or apartment … moving your stuff in, getting everything to your liking! I find that it tend to take longer each time. This time was of course a bigger deal, as I switched from Windows to Mac. During the set-up process, you’re always asked to name it something … and it struck me that all our computers have had male names! This one is now named Hadassah, after my first cat. The screen background really fits, because she was a Persian Blue.

This whole thing has certainly had its obstacles — I had a hard time connecting the external hard drive to both our computers — my husband’s being Windows, but it’s done now. It feels as if the biggest challenge is the oh so «Magic Mouse». Sure takes some time getting used to! I was pleasantly surprised that I could download both Google Chrome browser and Picasa. The latter took some strain off my mind and for now I can go on doing my photo processing as usual.

Happy days…

  1. I have a MacBook and an iMac, both with those magic rodents and, yes, I had a fun time trying to adjust. Great machines though, as is this iPad. I’m just short of an iPhone to complete the set lol. I hope you have many happy hours with your MacBook 🙂

    1. It’s a wonderful machine … I love it, and with this, my Apple eco-system is complete. It started with the iPhone, and I was forever hooked.

The magic rodent has its advantages, but I’m still not in full control LOL

Thank you for stopping by 🙂

      1. Apple products are far superior to most of what’s out there. They just take a bit of getting used to after using Windows PCs for so long but they’re worth the effort. And they just look so good too! 😀

        1. That’s exactly how I feel too. They’re indeed looking good … such a bonus! Will be interesting to see what the new iOS is like, when they release it soon … 
