wing tips

I’m not over my duck photography, in case anybody wondered πŸ˜‰ Still enjoy it as much as ever, and they are always available … always co-operating.

These ones, in the gallery are from yesterday. It was a lovely day — it felt almost Spring-ish. The wing tips of the second one, flapping, aren’t sharp, but I kept it anyway because I thought it looked … I don’t know, cool. At least they’ve made it much easier to make a gallery/slideshow here in WP. Before, it was rather complicated, when you wanted one picture to appear separate from the gallery! Now it’s a breeze…

The other day I shot another one, that I was rather happy with!

Today, it’s too windy so it’s one of those ‘stay close to home-days’, when we’re trying to digest some local news that broke last night.

  1. What is is about your duck photos that always brings a smile to my face??
You capture their very essence so well…such vibrant colors & their expressions are so cute!!!
Thank you for sharing such great pix with us!!!
    Love Sherri-Ellen.

      1. πŸ™‚ I believe so!!! The fact you love those web footed beauties so much comes thru in your pix & you have a wonderful knack of capturing their beauty & grace!!!! ❀

    1. Ha ha! I didn’t know they were shoes until when I was writing this post! I had to google the word, because I’m never sure of whether it’s one word, two words or hyphen in English. That happens all the time. So … when I typed in wing tips, I found shoes LOL

    1. Thank you πŸ™‚
Yes, that last one will go into some folder called Β«Pride & JoyΒ» … think I’ll make up a folder like that. I don’t have many, but I do have a few that I’m really, really happy with.

  2. Awww Rebekah! I have seen many great photos that you have taken! But I can understand where you come from… I am my worse critics! I really do have only a VERY few photos that I a, happy with…

    1. It’s terrible! When I go back and look at the ones I thought were at least half-decent a couple of years ago, I just want to die … Nowadays, not many pictures even make it to the computer..

  3. We are all so incredibly spoiled (and terribly self-critical): with the technology available today. Because of not finding the “perfection” in our photos we cavalierly destroy what doesn’t fit… Sorry, but I truly don’t believe there is such a thing as perfection and can’t help but wonder how much beautiful art has been destroyed for wont

      1. Hi Rebekah, Don’t know why I keep showing up as “anonymous” ’cause the info blanks were filled in before I posted the comment. (Didn’t really mean to send that first bit – it was an incomplete thought). Anyway, perhaps third time’s a charm? If not, just sign me confused… Cheers, Deb Weyrich-Cody (from a few hours west of you; )

        1. Hooray, it worked this time!
And the one below is (was) from me too (the final version; )

        2. I don’t know why it gets like that … guess WP has its little quirks πŸ™‚ Time after time, I appear as a ‘new user’ at certain blogs too..

Do you have a blog here in WordPress too, Deb?

  4. LOVE your Mallards: from the drake’s Chrome Green caps and tiny feather curl, the hen bird’s symphony of chestnut, buff and beige; from crisp wing tips all the way down to their webby orange “toes” they are so incredibly beautiful. Thank you.
But – we are all so incredibly spoiled (and terribly self-critical): with the technology available today – because of not finding the “perfection” in our photos we cavalierly destroy what doesn’t fit… Sorry, but I truly don’t believe there is such a thing as perfection and can’t help but wonder how much beauty has been destroyed in the folly of searching for the unattainable… Thank you for sharing, but please don’t forget to look at the larger focus and “see the forest (in spite of) the trees”; )
