Just Do It

Just read the WordPress Team’s post on the DailyBlog and it was entitled «Just do it». It was about blogging and procrastination. This is partly what I love about WordPress … the sense of community ! Posts like that really add to it, it was well written, really entertaining to read — now that we’ve survived the Mayan Apocalypse I guess we have time for blogging.

nikeJust do it, was, perhaps still is, NIKE’s mantra and long time ago my hubby found this little cartoon, which came to mind now 🙂 Blogging … jogging — doesn’t really matter — Just do It!

Anyway, their post couldn’t have been more timely to me. Lately, my blog has begun to feel like the water in some stagnant, little pond … thick, green, not moving at all! It needs new flow and I only wish I could re-create the spirit we have back in January 2011 when we started the Post-A-Day challenge! That was then, I can’t do that but I sure can brush the dust off this blog — time isn’t the issue in my case, and I like to blog so … I’ll follow their advice and «just do it» again 🙂

        1. Yes! WordPress has this ‘daily prompt’, and at times I’ve used it …when it’s something that immediately ‘connects’ with me.. They’re usually pretty good..

  1. It’s surprising what we can find to blog about when there isn’t ‘anything’. Don’t you agree? I’m able to write on the move, but not always able to catch up with my reading. Maybe 2013 will be different. I’m already planning on ‘doing it’ every day – somewhere in the blogging world. 🙂

    1. Hi there, and thanks! Yes, sometimes when I relly let myself go, I can write a great deal about nothing at all.
Right now, I’m reading a novel and one of the characters has the same first name as you..

        1. I’ve come across an author, her name is Maureen Lee. She writes about Liverpool, during the war. I truly enjoy them, so I’m on my fourth or fifth book now… Found her, thanks to another Brit author whom I enjoy; Erica James.

  2. I had 3 months off blogging this last year; two months because my Sis was ill and I went to England to be with her. When I came home I had bloggers-block for a month. Sometimes a break is good and there’s a reason for just not being inspired. I don’t think it’s an uncommon problem for writers. Glad you’re going to ‘just do it’ and looking forward to your posts. 🙂

  3. Love the cartoon! Look forward to the dusted off blog and the “just doing it” stuff. You have given me an idea, thanks…it has to do with NIKE, too.

  4. That quote of Nike’s has been one of my favourites for years, and I try to live by it. Procrastination gets us nowhere. We never know when we inspire someone by what we write about, so Just Do It, Rebekah!

    1. Yes, quite often I remind myself of that too … when I’m about to procrastinate! it’s good..I’m going to get back into blogging again, like it was..
