today I learned something

Photoshop, I’ve had for years now but creating little eggs and backgrounds is one thing — photo editing, something totally different. I have so much to learn there, but here’s a start! I followed an instruction by fellow blogger Guzman.

We’ve had three days of heavy rains here, now it’s sunny and warm … I suspect there might be an explosion of green! I took this photo today, with the instruction in mind [this is the original]:

and after the treatment …. I got this: [bear in mind it’s my first attempt]

Cool, huh?! Always fun to learn something new — now I feel encouraged to go on with Photoshop. I need to grasp the concept of ‘Levels’ and ‘Curves’.

        1. Hi Tobe,
You must make each photo a Β«Featured imageΒ» in each post in order for it to appear on the main page..

  1. I find photoshop very intimidating. I keep promising myself I’m going to take a course but so far have not done so. I’m impressed, though, with what people do with it. it’s a pretty awesome tool.

    1. The more I see of other people’s works with PS, the more I realize …that I know nothing! I’m trying to pick up what I can here online..

  2. I dont’ use photoshop, but I do use Corel. It’s amazing all of the capibilities these programs have, most of us aren’t even aware of. Keep polking and prodding, and exploring; I’ll bet you find all kinds of ways to make your photos sing with excitement. πŸ™‚ I love that top photo. πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you, J. for your kind words. Yes, it’s all play and fun … even though there are cases, where a certain photo could benefit from an effect like this..

  3. Well you are a better woman than I because I find photoshop overwhelming and I haven’t been able to make any real inroads at all. It has so many bells and whistles that if one can understand how to use I can see how one could lose a lot of hours playing.

    1. Lynne,
I think with Photoshop, one really has to focus on taking baby steps — one at the time! Otherwise it just becomes too overwhelming. When you see all the names go by, during the start-up … how MANY people were involved in it, then you get an idea of how big a programme it is.

  4. Well, I admit that I haven’t put in a concerted effort, but even trying to use one of the tools from the sidebar comes with either too much info to wade through, or not enough. I can’t figure out how to use most of them. Not to say it’s a bad program – just have to say one really really has to want to use to learn it
