Starting from Scratch

Can’t really make up my mind about those blogging platforms, but I wanted to have ‘one foot’ left in WordPress. Ā I like both and I don’t have to think about it now … I can think about it tomorrow or any other day. Wasn’t it Scarlett who said that in Gone with the Wind?!

This is my new ID in WordPress. I’ve had several, for different reasons, but now this is It! CoolCat was already taken, naturally.

To edit the gawdawful brown colour in the header would cost me thirty bucks a year, or I’d choose a different theme. I’ve been through all of them. If I like the fonts, it doesn’t accept custom background or the background gets underneath the posts. Twenty eleven I can’t stand the black navigation bar. If I could get rid of the nav bar there, I’d probably use that. I know, I know … I’m either picky or I have some kind of OCD šŸ™‚

One month exactly has gone by, that I’ve been away from the Daily Post. I think it was good for me to have that, even though it felt a little intrusive at times.

All of the above is free thoughts … just as they came out of my mind and as fast as my fingers could type, and that’s pretty fast — I haven’t done much else in my grown-up life, but …. typed.

Perhaps I write better/easier if nobody reads the damned stuff. I won’t link this page to Facebook or any other place — that way, perhaps I can relax a little and just write about whatever I feel like.

UPDATE: Went back to theme TwentyEleven –I once again found the website that told me how to get rid of the black nav bar! Here’s the link — it’s an extremely useful site with regards to WordPress themes!Ā http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/

  1. Welcome. I like the title and it was, indeed, Scarlett, who said “I’ll think about it tomorrow.” In the south we say that a lot :).
Cool feline is so much more feminine than cool cat…I think! And absence of snow is what this winter has been all about for us.

Well my challenge is done. I’ll see what I do next šŸ™‚ Pick out another person and build a scene around them! What an inspiration….

    1. Linda,
‘tomorrow’ is already upon us but I think I’ll postpone the thinking to another day. In fact, I don’t have to make any decision at all LOL…

No snow here — only ice. We’ll get flurries later, but that won’t amount to much.

This whole month, away from WordPress, I’ve done a lot of thinking, and I appreciate WP more now..

  2. I did not read this – which should make it easier for you to write. šŸ˜‰

I have heard there are those who can only draw freely on scraps of paper – only write freely on scraps of blogs.

I like the little Puffin eyes in the background to this blog.

    1. Now that you mention it …I think there might be something to it! I’d probably draw much more easily on a scrap of paper… So — good that you didn’t read this LOL

they are actually cats, but Puffin is one of my absolute favourite birds, so … let’s say they are Puffin eyes!

  3. Writing is quite an interesting experience. I love the fact that you just type what comes out from your mind as fast as your fingers can type. That is a wonderful way to free-write – I do that also!! I really like your blog. šŸ™‚

    1. Thank you! šŸ™‚
I’d never really done it before. I wrote for all of last year, really thinking hard about what I wrote and moreover … what others might think about it. The latter was the worst part. I signed up for a new ID here at WordPress and started over — hopefully, I’ll be able to write more like ‘myself’ …or at least, that’s what I’m aiming at..

  4. Hi cool feline – great name, much more refined than cool cat! šŸ˜‰
Thanks for coming by my blog and subscribing! I really appreciate it.
Hoping to get to know you better and read more of your posts as time permits.

      1. No, you didn’t explain it was you, I had no idea!!! šŸ˜€
Keeping a foot in each platform is wise, I know you miss the great community we have here at WP. I’ve subscribed to this blog too.

        1. LOL I went through a list, so I guess I did it too quickly — missed the explanation… Being away from WP for a month now only made me appreciate it more..

  5. Hi,
There really is no need to make any decision, just keep the blogs there and write in which ever one you feel like writing in at the time. šŸ™‚
I must say it is nice that you reopened a new blog here at WP. šŸ˜€

    1. Thank you, Mags … this is kind of good to hear. It is morning now, I’ve just got up and once again it strikes me how nice this is … going through my WP stuff in my *email inbox* … it’s like ‘coming home’ LOL I won’t make any decision… at least not today.
